ABOUT JASON WISE, REPUBLICAN FOR SHERIFF

Chief Jason Wise is currently the Police Chief of the City of Zilwaukee. Wise is also currently working for the Birch Run Police Department to protect and serve the community of Birch Run.

Jason holds a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Computer Science/Forensics degree, both from Arizona State University. During Jason’s Master’s program, he studied abroad in Israel. Jason’s learning course focused on security measures and terrorism threats toward Israel during his stay.

Jason has over twenty-five years of experience in public safety (Fire and Police). Over his career, he has further educated himself in computer forensics, working on the Michigan State Police ICAC task force. Jason has investigated criminal sexual assaults, assisted in homicide investigations, and performed forensic exams on digital devices.

Early in Jason’s career, he was paged to New York City in the aftermath of 9/11 with his K-9 partner, Sally. During his volunteer work, Jason and his partner, Sally, assisted in recovery efforts in Tower Two. Jason also brought Sally for emotional support to the victims of the family of first responders at Fire House 4 Ladder 15. Jason’s experience and recovery efforts were published by Kurt Suss, Titled Dogman, The Trials and Tribulations. Jason’s story is in Chapter Nine, “Sally”

Currently, Jason has investigated and worked directly with federal agents to bring justice to Michelle Lalonde, a cold case homicide. Jason’s strenuous efforts brought light into Lalonde’s homicide case, persuading federal prosecutors to re-evaluate the case.

In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time with his family and participating in sporting activities.
